I tend to just say I'm teaching English, but it's not quite that simple/complicated (teaching's no joke).
I am a CIEE program participant working get money get paid as a Language and Cultural Assistant which is a part of Spain's nationwide multilingual initiative. I am not in charge of a classroom, but I will help both students and staff develop speaking, listening,
reading, writing skills, and cultural understanding. However not being in charge of a classroom means I'm technically working part time; around 12 hours. Which means I'll have a lot of free time I'll be filling up with side tutoring to make ends meet.
When I'm not teaching or tutoring I will be involved with Centro Familiar Cristiano, the church I visited when I there for spring break in 2011, helping out where needed, be it with the youth, English services, set up; anything really.
In January I will also hopefully be connected with Raíces which is on hiatus until the director returns from the States, along with interns Clay and Shane.
